Mïrändä – ‘I Am Art’
New York abstract-pop artist, Mïrändä, has this week released her new track ‘I Am Art’ to complete a trilogy of tarot-inspired songs. She has been gaining great momentum this past year, picking up attention from The Line of Best Fit who described the song as ”an ironic masterpiece”.
This song would be described as dark synth pop, and Mïrändä is really establishing herself above the rest within this genre. We can’t wait to hear what she has in store next, but whatever it is we are sure that great things await her.

James Blake – ‘You’re Too Precious’
This brand new, dreamy love song from James Blake just had to make our Fave Five this week.
This one is heavy on complex vocals, with high-pitched oscillation forming a melody over the top of the remaining instrumentation. The mood feels pretty loved-up, which will be familiar for many of Blake’s loyal fan base.

The Strange Days – ‘Why Would You’
Our next pick comes from returning post-gutter rockers, The Strange Days.
Written as a backlash against nothing in particular, according to the group, ‘Why Would You‘ is “a short, sweet punky number that definitely wasn’t deliberately engineered to clock in at under two minutes”. Regardless of how this track came about, we’re glad it was brought to our attention. It has an extremely catchy guitar riff throughout, joined by strong vocals and some energetic percussion.
If you’re in need of some lively rock music to get you going, give this one some love, and check out the rest of The Strange Days‘ back catalogue on Spotify. Their link is available below!

Oya Paya – ‘Kobi’
Oya Paya are an alternative-rock trio we discovered while searching for new tunes online. Their brand new track ‘Kobi’ will certainly get you going this weekend. It’s punchy, fast-moving, and if the general pace of this one doesn’t catch your attention, you’ll absolutely love the hip-hop feel and rap style vocals.
If we as a nation continue to obey rules and stay home, we cross our fingers that lockdown can be lifted in time for these guys to play their show on September 27th at Telford’s Warehouse, Tower Wharf, Chester. Go and check them out on their socials.

Groove Armada – ‘Get Out on the Dancefloor’
The round things off this week, we’ve chosen the latest banger from dance pioneers, Groove Armada. The duo have been releasing tracks since the late 90s, and have put out over 10 different albums including some massive chart hits.
Their brand new release, ‘Get Out on the Dancefloor‘ has that same special sound they possess, the perfect recipe for a dance track that you simply cannot listen to sitting still. On top of that, it features vocals from Nick Littlemore, frontman of another duo we love, Empire of the Sun.
Accompanying the track, the boys have released a brilliant video consisting of super fans and big names from the world of TikTok. You can see them isolating from home, showing off their unique styles and dancing around, as if in a club without a care in the world. It’s a great watch and will no doubt lift your spirits if you’re having a tough day.
